Stars Announced for 5th Annual “Concert With The Stars”

LEXINGTON, KY (November 28, 2018) – The LEXington Theatre Company is thrilled to welcome four incredible Guest Stars for “Concert With The Stars” 2019, co-presented by Variety Live at The Opera House, and sponsored by KentuckyOne Health.  Two of the stars return to The LEX after their memorable performances in past summer productions.  In celebration of the The LEX’s mission, the stars from Broadway will be joined by an ensemble of college students from top-notch music and theatre programs, as well as local talent.  Tickets are on sale now for the one-night-only performance on Saturday, January 5 at 8:00pm, at The Lexington Opera House.


Lexington audiences were first charmed by Dan DeLuca, when he played Emmett in Legally Blonde at The LEXback in 2017, co-directed by Laura Bell Bundy.  DeLuca’s other credits include the originating the leading role of Jack Kelly in the First National Broadway Tour of Newsies, as well as performances at Radio City Music Hall, Goodspeed Opera House, The St. Louis MUNY, The Old Globe, Barrington Stage, Joe’s Pub and 54 Below to name a few.  


Eloise Kropp also returns to The LEX after her delightful performance as Val in this summer’s A Chorus Line. Eloise starred on Broadway as Ruby in Dames at Sea, JennyAnyDots in Cats and in On The Town. She has also performed in NY’s City Center Encores series, and at the Kennedy Center, Goodspeed Opera House, The MUNY and many more.


The LEX is pleased to welcome Joe Carroll, who has starred on Broadway as Johnny in Bandstand, Prince Topher in Cinderella, Balthazar in Romeo & Juliet, and in Once.  In addition to his numerous regional credits, Carroll has appeared in Televisions “NCIS: New Orleans”, “Chicago Fire”, and “Elementary,” to name a few.  


Rounding out this starry list is Solea Pfeiffer, who originated the role of Eliza Hamilton in the West Coast Tour of the smash-hit Hamilton.  She also recently starred in NY’s City Center production of Songs For A New World.  She’s starred as Maria in West Side Story at LA’s famous Hollywood Bowl, and has numerous other credits.


“Concert With The Stars” is a cabaret-style concert of Broadway show tunes, interwoven with behind-the-scenes stories from the guest stars.  “Today’s Broadway Stars” are joined with “Tomorrow’s Broadway Hopefuls,” in various numbers, to celebrate the mission of The LEX.  Serving as a training ground for the next generation of musical theatre talent, The LEX creates first-rate, locally-produced, professional productions for Lexington and Central Kentucky.  The non-profit theatre company has produced successful summer productions of A Chorus Line, The Music Man42nd StreetMary Poppins and Legally Blonde, utilizing the historic Lexington Opera House. The College Internship and High School Apprenticeship Programs offer further experience for aspiring young people to learn about all aspects of theatrical productions. The titles of the TWO 2019 Summer Productions will be announced at “Concert With The Stars.”


“Concert With The Stars” is a one-performance-only event on Saturday, January 5, at 8:00pm, at The Lexington Opera House.  Tickets are on sale now, and are available at The Lexington Center Ticket Office (859-233-3535) or on Ticketmaster.com.  “Concert With The Stars” is co-presented by Variety Live at the Opera House and sponsored by KentuckyOne Health, along with Media Sponsor WKYT-Channel 27.
