Season Ticket Holders Save Up to 55%… Packages Starting as Low as $200!

LEXINGTON, KY (May 22, 2019) -- The 2019-20 Season of Broadway Live and Variety Live show lineup was announced last night during the annual gala season preview event at the Lexington Opera House. The event, directed by THE LEXington Theatre Company, showcased local talent who performed numbers from top national touring productions, all booked for the coming season.

“We are excited to announce our new season of fantastic entertainment for 2019-20!” said Opera House Program Director Luanne Franklin.  “This season we’re saying “OH YES!” to great entertainment at the Opera House and the 43rd season of Broadway and Variety Live.”

The combined 2019-20 ten-show season features five national touring Broadway musicals, two locally produced Broadway musicals, a musical tribute show, a childrens’ show, and one cabaret-style concert event featuring Broadway Stars and Broadway hopefuls.

“Many of these titles have been the hottest tickets on Broadway including one multi-Tony Award-nominated family-friendly presentation – the perfect way to introduce live theatre to young people,” Franklin continued.

Season ticket holders always receive the best purchase options – save up to 55% off the single ticket prices to the best seat selection.  The five-show Broadway Live season ticket packages start at just $200.  Lowest season ticket prices are locked in until single Broadway Live tickets go on sale on September 9th.

“If you love and appreciate musical theatre, it makes so much sense to become a season ticket holder and enjoy the benefits that come with it,” Franklin said. “Season ticket holders enjoy the best prices, get the best seat selection before tickets go on sale to the general public and enjoy multiple payment options and the lowest handling fees. Other benefits include lost ticket insurance and the flexibility to exchange performances in the event of a schedule change.  Best of all is the great personal service that has become an integral part of the Broadway Live experience,” she said.

Season ticket holders also have the chance to buy additional tickets to Broadway Live shows at a 10% discount and in advance of the general public on-sale date.  In addition, season ticket holders will have the first opportunity to purchase tickets to Variety Live presentations.

The Broadway Live series will present five performances of each title and all shows are scheduled to take place over the weekends, including three evenings and two matinees. This season, show times are changing.  Friday and Saturday eveningperformances are at 7:30pm.  The Sunday, eveningperformance remains the same at 6:30pm. All matinees are now scheduled at 1:00pm. Season ticket prices range from $200 to $380. Orders for Season Tickets for the 2019-20 Broadway Live season will begin today at 10 a.m. at the Lexington Center Ticket Office.

Lexington Center President and CEO Bill Owen said, "The Lexington Opera House, built in 1886, has been in service for 133 years and continues going strong. It is important to recognize that this historic theater continues to serve as a vibrant part of the Lexington community. The Opera House is a shining example of creativity, ingenuity, collaboration and cooperation.”

“The Opera House Fund and the Lexington business community are to be commended for providing the necessary sponsorship dollars so that we may continue to offer fine facilities for intimate live stage performances presented by both national touring companies and the local performing arts community alike,” Owen continued.
